James Crowden is a poet and historian, living in the neighbouring county of Somerset. Many of his poems and prose are about rural life. They describe the people who make a living from the land, as well as giving an insight into today's rural community.
The James Crowden Room has a contemporary look with its dark and light walls. The theme is enhanced by the black and white photos depicting rural scenes, which have been taken from Crowden's book "In Time ofFlood".
The room is ‘L' shaped with an open plan bathroom with free-standing double-ended bath and walk-in shower forming one part of the ‘L' shape. There is a separate loo. There are two TVs; one in the bedroom area which can be viewed from the king-sized bed and a second in the bathroom area which can be viewed from the bath.
